Fungal on my Sweetgum

I've noticed this on my Sweetgum leaves and the branches have this scarring, scabbing?

Anyone know what this is? How to treat it?

Gotta be from a bug laying eggs.
Reminds me of the damage from cicadas.
Maybe try to get some better pics.

Yeah they aren't great pics.
I'm in the North West UK so not sure we get Cicadas here.
