The only fungicide I have on hand (Hi-Yield's "Bordeaux Mix Fungicide," which is essentially just copper) is for foliar application, so I'm wondering if there is a "special" kind of fungicide to protect the tender new roots of cuttings and seedlings.

"Captan" can be somewhat effective. The best(imo) are only commercially available.I like "Subdue","Truban","Banrot".I'm sure there are others and maybe better ones.I've been out of the growing business for a few years now.

Threre are countless product names. Just look for or ask someone at the garden centre for something to prevent "damping off".
