Seedling
Hi guys, I recently acquire 2 Sequoia trees. They’re about 5 yrs old and about 7 ft tall when I got them. They’re currently planted in huge 20-24 gals tubs. Few days ago, I decided to do some pruning. Took away unnecessary foliage and some branches. As per previous owner the trees had been fertilize and it’s good for the next 6 months. I don’t really know what kind of fertilizer he used but I would like to know if I can use some BioGold on them much sooner? Or best wait at the end of the year. Also, since it’s summer I decided to wait to repot them in a shallow and wide wooden boxes that I’m going to build. Can I repot them by November during dormant season? Or wait before the winter ends? Also, how much root can I eliminate when I repot them. This is my first time having Giant sequoias. I have some coastal redwoods, junipers, Zelkovas, baldcypress, mostly old and Omono size trees. Not familiar with the Sequoia’s care. BTW the other tree was trimmed( bottom half of the tree)by the previous owner. Fortunately I’m seeing some new growth. Goal will be something like the last pic. thanks in advance.
