Hi all,

Today I dug out my Ginkgo.
It was quite a job, because this one has a massive root system.
I washed out all of the native soil, trimmed the roots and potted in a mica training pot.
No pruning has been done now.

I am very fond of this tree, I have it since it was quite little. Some 15years ago.
It has been in and out a pot several times over its livespan.

The roots:

Result after the work:

What do you think, all comment is welcome.

Very cool! I'd like to have seen a bit more of the roots exposed as in the bare root photo there seems to be plenty nice ones. Also, I have a feeling that knuckle near the top is going to swell out of control if you don't do something about it now. Nice Gink though.

It's almost a shame all those beautiful roots are mostly under the soil, the bare-root looks very good.

Nice! Must be very satisfying to look at it after putting in the time and developing it.

I love it. You never see a good ginko thats for sure.

Im glad you didnt try to over-simplify it and remove the character like I see so many do here.

Thanks all for your comments.
First things i will do is keeping the top of the tree under controle and let the lower branches grow freely.
Here's the cut's i think i will make:
