Does Walter have a favorite, for whatever reason, -technical or souce or some attachment to the past or no particular reason?

Looks like you forgot a few words in that question there!!
I’ve got a friend who talks like that all the time actually, I smile and nod a lot.

OK, this is a bonsai tree forum and I'd like to know if Walter has a favorite bonsai tree, past or present.

The one that is on my bench. I am very lucky. I love them all.

I just have to point out that this is proof that everyone who does this well does it for their own joy.
The only thing separating us all from excellent trees is time, or money. Money or time. Time and money and money and time.

What never "it depends" 's is if we share this love.

People First.

Walter, your spruces are the single biggest reason I decided to get into bonsai. Your garden is truly remarkable!
Yes!

@Walter Pall in a few pictures the same low, very dynamic open forest is shown, growing on some rocky slab. Is it spruce Or is it a needle juniper?

Thanks for sharing, my first thought was that I was definitely seeing a lifetime's worth of work, then I kept reading and it looks like several lifetimes.

Can I ask how many years of collecting is your garden representative of.

Well, I do it since 40 years. What you see is mainly the result of twenty years though.

Ahhh, six more computer screen backgrounds. Thanks! How many trees does The Walter have in inventory at any given time?
