Good bonsai trees for less lit and humid area

Hi,
Got some space in the in back garden to place 2-3 trees and grow for bonsai. Unfortunately it's a bit shaded area and only gets 2-3 hours sun at mid day in summer, a bit longer in winter, and it's a bit humid. Soil will stay wet for few days after a rain ( luckily we get few days with sun every week or so even In winter.
What are some tree choices that would grow for 4-5 years in such environment? Soil is regular soil mixed with peat, I can always dig 50-60 cm around the tree and some media to enhance drainage if needed.

My first guess would be Yew, Taxus spp.
Then ligustrum, and possibly even japanese maple?

Any Azalea. As long as you have the time and space, lots of Satsuki varieties are small. Except the map shows you as temperate dry summers with <.25" precip. Yew, too, but just maybe too hot in summer. Several varieties of Japanese Holly, Ilex crenata, especially Dwarf Pagoda, and Japanese Boxwood, Buxus microphylla, also many varieties. Pot them in low-cut nursery pots the finished size and shape of pot that you want them to grow to and leave them in the ground for two, but not three growing seasons. Trim the roots at the beginning of the third growing season and re-sink.
