Just thought some may be interested to see the results.

I've been collecting smaller European hawthorn seedlings that grow everywhere here as weeds and using those as root stock to propagate a double flower hawthorn which I believe is called 'Pauls Scarlet'

This is one of around 10 grafted earlier this spring - about 6 weeks ago.

Personally I think the normal flowers of hawthorn are much prettier than the deformed things Paul's scarlet has. So I wouldn't bother with the grafting and grow the normal Hawthorn.
