Nice work Grainer!
I see you picked up your seeds from the same place I got some of my JBP. What were your germination rates like? I didn't find as much success with these ones as with others I sourced, but I did sow mine a bit too early I think. I have no experience with stem cutting but it looks like you went pretty early (seed cases not yet popped!), I am yet to do anything like that with mine but I think if I don't get around to it in the next week or so it'll be too late. Keep up the progress reports, I'm interested to see how these go... good stuff!

Figured Id buck the trend and get them cut when they still had energy form the seed pod rather than relying on the existing leaf.. an experiment that I will have to wait and see what happens.. Yes ..germination rates were around 70% .. not great but Ill be happy for now.. Just wish they weren't soo hard to get :( I tried my tits off to get more but struggled.. also was after sylvestnis but lucked out!.. These US guys have it easy being able to order 1000 seeds at a time :(. I also have another 2 trays I just sowed, but they are yet to pop.. starting a bit late but meh.. doesn't matter over 6 years LOL.. Ill be happy if I get 100! Rare as hens teeth these seeds are here! Luckily I just got donated another 50 or so seeds :) fingers crossed they arrive?

70% germination is a good result, mine from that source would be closer to 30%. You’re right: hard to get is an understatement, gotta make sure you make the most of every seedling, cos those JBP seeds don’t grow on trees down our way! You know what I mean... ?
