this has been sitting here awhile.....:)

Best one i ever saw was on the dek of toshio sakai, famous koi breeder. was about 10 inches tall, 3/4 of an inch in diameter and a cluset of grapes about 4 incles long. ever since i wanted one. I have a brass figurine of a fox that i always wanted to put under the grap cluster.
have no idea how old they have to be to fruit or if you can get a start from a bearing vine. Wish i'd have had this urge two decades ago when my uncles were still alive. They were employees of taylor wine company from upstate NY. they could have told me....anyone know pls share

I have access to an abandoned vineyard and we recently collected quite a few fantastic vines. We collected more than we needed with the idea of trading them. Some are rather large. If there was interest I could post some photos.

Interesting I have never seen a grape vine with the life line cleaned and lime sulfered.

I remember from Gnarly Branches that Dan Robinson has a grape bonsai as well...zinfandel, maybe? I can't find a picture of it online, but perhaps if Vic or Ang3l see this they can post a good one. *hint, hint; wink, wink* :D

Eric, that tree is beautiful Thanks for posting it!

Here are some photos of the wine grapes I recently collected. The vines are VERY old and have some great character and movement.

Since I collected them a week ago I have re-potted them in some good, well drained soil. They all seem to be doing very well and most are actually developing tiny grape clusters as well as new leaves.

I have a total of eleven of them ranging from about 16" high (only a couple of these) , to four feet high and a foot in diameter.
