I noticed today that i had about 4 healthy green leaves drop on my green island ficus. The tree seems perfectly healthy. I recently got a spider farmer sf2000 grow light (had it for about a week). I was wondering if maybe the new increased light and time on caused leaf drop? I have it running for about 12-14 hours a day and there are no burn marks on the leaves. The past few nights it had also gotten down to mid to upper 50’s °f(it sits next to an open window). Maybe that caused it? Looking for advice.

You need to show the whole plant. We need to know the denominator to get 4 leaves in perspective. Leaves are not forever, and the eldest, interior, and least lighted leaves will perish as the plant changes seasons. Any change in its environment may signal a season change.

It doesnt seem to be the elder leaves that are drooping. It seems to be the newer leaves. Hear is the whole plant.

The plant looks fine, and a dozen dropped leaves is nothing.

I'm sure you will be pleased. I have never been disappointed in anything I have received from them.
I just got the trees and I am actually not sure how I feel.
On one hand the trees are bigger than I thought and they all look healthy so I am happy about this part.

On the other hand, the packaging was too good to be honest. I filled two 5 gallon buckets of peanuts and still can’t see my trees. Since I ran out of containers I decided to dive into the peanuts and tried to feel the pots. The black olive certainly gave me a surprise. But I was able to grab the pot after a feel tries. After pulling the tree out, I spent a good 10 minutes picking the peanuts off the tree. Just when I thought it couldn’t get worse, I felt the Desmodium at my finger tips...

I just really wish there is a good alternative to packing peanuts. They are not environment friendly. They take a lot of time to take out. And they help the trees sting me...

Are they in fact styrofoam? Many packing peanuts are now made from corn or something and literally will dissolve in water. If you're not sure, place some in the sink and spray them with water for a bit to see if they dissolve.

They float... it’s been hours now and they still float

Leaf drop usually means overwatering or underwatering.
what soil are you using?
Sometimes I have had healthy plants arrive to me to shed all of there leaves and start over.
I try not to be too concerned about it as long as new leaves are still growing.
I would monitor your watering very closely.
Use the chopstick method if needed to gauge if the soil is too damp.
If it loses all of its leaves then it will not need as much water until it recovers.
Give it good light until it recovers.
