Hello everyone.

This tree was a beauty at one point. (Before and after pictures attached).
Right after summer ended, it to lose all of its leaves and I thought it was dead. I scratched the upper trunk to confirm that it was dead and I thought it was. I tossed it underneath one of my benches and forgot about it.
Right before the cold started in November I was cleaning my greenhouse and was about to throw out the ficus until I noticed a sprout sticking out of the base of the tree. To my surprise there was still life at the base of the trunk. Immediately I kept scratching the rest of the trunk to see where was there life. Only the base of the trunk remained alive. Now I have new branches coming out everywhere from the base.
My question is what should I do now?
Any deas as to a possible style?
Should I just allow it to grow out?
Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks,
Steve

I saw another on here called a "chunky monkey" I think. Basically a giant triangle with branches. You might be able to search it? Maybe someone else knows what I am referencing.

This also reminds me a lot of a big Olive chop. You might get some ideas looking at those.

Let it go for a year or two and see what it does. Style based on what the tree likes to do.
