I like to use the fines from sifted pumice, turface, perlite, lava, DE or whatever I have lying around. I don’t use the dust but just the particles slightly smaller than for my main mix.
or a simple cactus mix would do fine.

I have some premade soil already... @Carol 83 I read to leave cuttings out a few days to dry... or just stick in premade bonsai soil

I've let them dry and planted right away and waited for growth to water, didn't make much difference.

ere's a photo, they are pretty perfect for wire shelves - can just clip them right on with what they come with.
If I may ask, where did you get those black long drip pans? Those are perfect!
