16 day’s growth

I wonder how big these will get? Still have a solid 5 months to go!

I love these Pine trees!

Things are getting greener.I upped the nitrogen a tad today by adding more Cal-Mag+.Has iron too.

trying seedling cuttings from mature seedlings

I have tried this on the green shoot parts above stems on mature seedlings and it seems they just callous like crazy.I’m not giving up on them just yet though.they are at two weeks.
Last evening I used mature seedlings, but this time left some stem like usual.I think a proper cambium layer is more condusive to rooting.I also wounded slightly with razor on each side with a couple slits.

I also used stronger concentration of Dip&Grow almost at 20% ......around 17% actually at 5 minutes dip!
Wish me luck.If these root well they will be really vigorous.
Don’t know till’ you try.
If not ,I will sew more seed.

Great experiment... look forward to hearing the results. Very healthy looking seedlings to be working with. 👍 🍺

@cmeg1 What strength kelp water did you use.
I'm getting ready to soak some seeds and stratify for planting.
1/16 tsp per gallon overnight then stratify with regular water.
Mine sprouted without without stratification in one week. Was probably fresher seed from fwschumacher

Getting some real giants

Some of the Pines are going to be quite huge.I just hope they do good in transition to outdoors.I am very confident they will because they are definately high brix and strong. These have actually had minimal nitrogen per se the nutrient solution, but I bet the Fulvic Acid really compliments the nutrient uptake. And aside from a few burnt needle tips on the earlier batch from too much foliar feeds of the daily watering they are looking good.I now do a plain water wash of foliage after every feed because the Fulvic Acid is really powerful with the seaweed in daily nutrient solution.Really should not apply seaweed to foliage more than once a week....especially with Fulvic Acid involved.Seaweed is potent.
I am not sure how they will wire. They are getting quite thick, the trunks some of them.....the earlier batches anyway.I really do not feel like wiring anything.Oh well, Formal upright anyone?
I read somewhere that co2 fertilized plants revert fine to ambient levels. And really why would’nt they? It is probably in their genetics.........somewhere.

I would like a quote on a dozen as well. Waterford 20197.
If the shipping were an issue, I may not be too far to drive.

I've read this thread diligently and like the work you're doing.
At the moment, I'm engaged in moving my residence but hope to get my old grow shelves out of storage and updated with the month.
In my kitchen, there's a fridge full of tree seed aching to sprout
Tree tending is new to me, but I used to grow super hot peppers at hobbyist level so I've sprouted a fair amount of seeds.
I also found weed growers were way ahead of the curve on indoor growing methodology when I was figuring out soil, heat, water, and light.

Good Work.

Also meant to ask your opinion on LED fixtures. I set-up 8-9 years ago with T8 6500K for garden veggies and they were fine 2" above canopy.
Lot's of LED on the market now. My shelves are 2'x4' the super-duper LEDs seem to give you some good intensity from a greater height if needed.
I'm using a mix of cheap red an white LED on low-light orchids and they seem fine, but a basil plant I slipped in to the mix seems a little light starved.

Would an April start on a grow mat give enough time transition to outdoors and winter using a plexi cloche or miniature hoop house?

My favorite leds are hlg quantum boards.4000k do great for veg as they are blue enhanced and increase photosynthesis and lateral growth also to limit stretching.Red can be added as they have the r-spec if planning on budding.I do not use them though as I veg all the time and then sell.

Fortunate enough to have received 6 JBP. Will be shuffling inside/out until risk of freeze passes here in 6A.

Awesome growth so far, thanks @cmeg1 for getting them on such a rapid track!

Had to rig up a container - looks like I’ll need one more as these are packed too dense. But it’ll work for now...
