Let the heckling begin! I gullivered (patent pending ?) my ficus. I used galvanized fence nails and fish tank air hose to hold the wire and protect the branches. I had it wired not long ago but I am trying to open up the center of the tree a bit more to get some other branch options going and to create some airflow.

Nice drainage holes :) You should worry about mice making some sort of home in it :p

Don't understand Az, why no pruning ?

The idea is to carry the leaves on the outside
of the tree. Leave the inside leaf free.

Looks nice and healthy.
Good Day

Don't know if this will help [ this tree has 2 chopsai by the way']

Ficus B

Defoliated
You can see what to remove and make the leaves end
up on the outside only.

Tree will slowly heal the two major cuts.

Used properly, guy wires definitely have a place in bonsai training...nearly always in conjunction with “regular” wiring.
The trees in these photos all have multiple guy wires. Some aren’t visible, which is even better.
