Looks like a good job you did there. How many years did that take?
 
Nice. I'd cut back harder on those branches. Curious the reason you didn't do so?
 
Peter, the slanted chop was in 2012.

Martin, if you look at the first tree I posted it's trunk to height ratio is about 1:8. I find that pleasing to emulate a mature, but not ancient, deciduous tree.
Going for a similar ratio gives me about another foot to work with at the top of this one.

I like the branches of that other tree more. I'll be watching. Interesting Hackberry you've got.
 
@Frojo how have your celtis handled the cold ?
This one has fantastic potential - the root spread looks amazing....
Do you keep your trees sheltered during winter?
