I would not want to candle prune that pine...lol...You would have to start in Winter to finish in Fall. Amazing Tree!

If memory servers it is called Crane and Turtle rock....it is the Ritsurin Garden near the town of Takamatsu on Shikoku Island. Its old...maybe 600 years???? I was there in fall and there was a bunch of "little old woman" that needle plucked and pruned all of the hundreds of Black Pine in the Park. Using only crazy tripod ladders and bamboo scaffolding!!
