Hi everyone, been off the forum over the winter months but back now with some nice budding trees and a couple if sick azaleas after letting the soil dry out in terrible soil .
I repotted my maples in around September/October time and thought they might not pull through but here they are budding out nicely.
I had problems with my orange dream maple it was growing all black and crispy and made the late decision to repot and it looks like its about to explode with energy so I'm glad I did now and it will ne easier to deal with in its new soil mix

My azaleas last year I decided to leave them and repot them this spring. However I let the soil dry out too much and now the leaves are drying up and going crispy . So I repotted them yesterday and now on the sick shelf 🙃 great start to the spring eh ? Hopefully they pull through I think I may of caught them just in time .

Anyway happy spring time all you brits it's good to be back 👍😃

Welcome back and happy springtime! Hope all your trees bounce back.

We lost an hour of valuable bonsai tending time with the clocks change and it seems to be blowing a gale in my garden, but at least the temperature is going to creep up nicely soon... Should be over 20c here in London Tues-Wed  I would say my trees are still only cautiously budding though... deciduous still looking a bit sleepy (sleepier than bigger cousins out in the street/park tbh)

Yes the trees are nowhere near in this neck of the woods . Luckily I have the greenhouse which seems to of gave me a bit of an early start with my trees . My maple in the ground still sleeping and a few weeks away from leafing out I reckon. I'm starting to fear that my azalea bonsai might be very close to death . My own lazy fault tbh I wasn't checking it enough and it dried out so I asked my son to keep it wet for me while I worked away and my god he certainly did 🙈
Anyway hopefully it will pull through or it'll be my 3rd dead tree in a year 🥴
