Picked this up today. I love the texture and feel of this pot, but the signature is really hard to see. Anyone have an idea of who may have made it?

Pretty cool pot.

I wonder if you can't get a better pic....
Or contrast edit that pic, to show a chop better.
I don't see anything!

LOL, good idea. I'm no Photoshop pro but lets see if this helps

That looks good enough for someone who knows to catch it.

Water and maybe even a hint of dye could help....but that's way clearer already!

Seems a lot of tell in the build too....

Maybe more pics of the build could prompt someone to go find there's and read the chop!

Water and oil did help a little. The pots to rough for a good rubbing. I used a magnifying glass.

Also the holes for the securing wire are recessed. I haven't seen that before.

Very attractive pot. Sort of a nanban version of a treasure bag pot. It really has the feel of a very good Japanese pot, though the signature looks more western to me. I keep seeing “Randi” but that could be my imagination. Whatever the name I really like the pot. It has sabi.

ROND is what I see in it.
This was my first thought as well. The pot is well made, has a lot detail and recessed tie wire holes. This leads me to believe, maybe incorrectly, they've been making bonsai pots for a while. I've check several sites with list of bonsai potters, searching for something similar in first or last name, from around the world with no luck. Was hoping maybe someone had another with the same signature

It could also be a B. It may just be a one off, or someone who made a few then stopped. I have one signed Kravjansky, and haven't been able to find any info.

Well after a few weeks of research I slowly matched details of the pot and the readable signature and found it was made by Miroslava Randová.
