Has anyone use these maples for Bonsai material?

I just picked up 5 maples today from Topiary Gardens. By the way great place to get trees from.

Nishiki Gawa Rough Bark
Kasen Nishiki
Koto Ito Komachi
Edgewood golden ( red lacy leaf)

If anyone has used or seen these before I would like to hear from you. Any problems or quirks?
Thanks
Tim

I have Nishiki Gawa. So far I love it, but I've had it for less than a year. The bark is beautiful and the leaves are a decent size, and turned a nice red last fall.

I have Nishiki gawa. Love it. Some say the bark is superior to that of Arakawa for bonsai.

Are they harder to grow than a regular acer palmatum?

Thanks. Since he said for Topiary Gardens, I thought he is making topiary. He meant "from". The following sentence made it clear. :D

No problems with any of those that I know of. The shaded areas under larger trees you have will give you the best results. Enjoy!

All of my maples are in pots... Well like 20 in the ground as grow outs but will go back into pots. Yes maples are like crack. I got rid of 99% of my other trees. I do just maples now.

I put 2 in the ground as landscape trees. three of them are in pots, topiary "Jerry #2, Koto Ito Komachi, and edgewood golden.

I figure the two in the ground I can layer off sections. Ones in the ground are Nishiki gawa and Kasen nishiki

I am placing another order of 5 with Diana later next week.

Diana is the best guys. If you haven't order from her you need too. Best maples in the market.
Here a photo of the recent ones I just got from her: )
So happy.
