I recently acquired a bunch of smaller elms, almost fifty of them. They were at a friend of mine's place, so I asked what kind of elms did he have growing out there and e told me that he had Drake, Bosque, and Allee Elms. So I was just wondered if anyone has worked with these, or seen them made into good bonsai?

The names you mention aren't species. They are cultivars. "Drake elm," "bosque" elm and "allee" are ALL Chinese Elm -- ulmus parvifolia.

Ulmus parvifolia is extremely common bonsai material. It's been used for hundreds of years for bonsai. It is tough, resilient and forgiving of beginner mistakes. Good material to work with.

They can be used in single specimen planting (older trees)

I wouldn't think they'd be much different that the main species...They're not real specialized, as cork bark or tiny leafed cultivars are...
