I made this approach graft 1.5 years ago. Shimpaku on san jose stock. Im wondering if you guys can help me determine if it has taken or not. I have some concerns about the lack of calus tissue showing on rootstock. The scion has calused pretty well and the fit looks ok but im not so sure.20170803_192557.jpg 20170803_192603.jpg 20170803_193447.jpg 20170803_200052.jpg

The stem on the foliage side will be considerably thicker than the root side (relative to the graft point) when it has taken.

I don't see this in your pix.

You can add a wire tourniquet to the stem just below the graft (below as on the root side) to help things along. Of course, be sure to keep the stems in firm contact at the graft point.

Haste makes waste.
