I am not sure if you are asking a question or not. What have you been doing to it for the last 4-1/2 years?
It is a pretty magnificent tree but it does look a bit weak.
Daughter is too cute.

That same year i am fertilising the tree well but the health of the tree leaves the wishes behind, resulting in much withered leaves.
however, a lot of growth.

I was worried about the the health of the tree, an expert was able to tell that it was most likely the disease monilia and that regular spraying with Captan product could provide a solution for the tree.

You must be very rich. Normally, beginners are cautioned to not acquire high-end trees until they are able have a record of success keeping trees.
So, what does the root system look like?

He didn't say he was a beginner. Where did you get that? He's relatively new to this forum but who knows, he may have been doing bonsai for the last fifty years.

The following winter it was decided to prune the entire tree back and rebuild it very briefly
The tree was also repotted.
All this under direction of Maarten Van Der Hoeven.

This is the winter silhouet of the tree in January 2018
I generally let the tree grow 10 cm and then prune it back throughout the entire growing season.

I only allow the lower branch to grow freely for thickness and vitality.

In April 2018 the tree starts to become very vital , i let the tree bloom and then cut the berries away to make the tree grow even better
I continue to grow the branch below freely, thickening is a bit slower than expected.

2019 season, the tree wanted to flower a lot, so I removed the flowers before they could open, again to get as much energy as possible in the growth of the tree.

Because 2019 was a very hot summer I protected the pot against overheating, species like hawthorn likes cool moist roots, I have already experienced.

So this is the last image for the time being this winter.
I a certainly not dissatisfied with the evolution and the path I have already traveled with this tree
It can always be better of course...
I look forward to your opinion about this tree and what could possibly be improved
Normally this spring the tree gets a better pot that dimensioned by Tom Benda.
I will try to update this tree regularly.
