I know that bottom heat helps seedlings get started but does bottom heat help cuttings to get going? Will it give the cuttings the little extra to break out the roots which seems to be the hardest part? I almost always get leaves but usually fail with the roots. Thanks.

Sadly it appears my heat mat is developing a "hot spot" it cooked a couple of my pyracantha cuttings before I saw it so I need to get new heating set up.

Bottom heat always encourages roots as long as it is in the right range of temps.

The one I got for Christmas says that it heats to 10 - 20 degrees above room temperature, or do I need to look into a thermostat?
