Hey All,

I got my shovel and scooped up a few Maple tree saplings the other day from the yard and I was hoping to get some advice on what to do with them. I know the pots aren't traditional bonsai pots and all i had at the time was potting soil. Can anyone tell me what I should do next to get them going on a happy bonsai path? Pruning? Transplant to smaller pot? Wait? Im lostIMG_1194.JPGIMG_1195.JPGIMG_1196.JPG

These are too young and small to prune, you'd just be stealing time and growth. Let them grow and let them grow some more.

Because they are small and young you can take advantage of their flexibility and maybe see about wiring some bends early in the trunks.

Here is another Maple Bonsai I started that seems to be going pretty good so far. The trunk is very thin but its doing well. Should i cut off the new shoot that grew from the base?IMG_1201.JPGIMG_1202.JPGIMG_1203.JPGIMG_1204.JPG
