You're right on, I can't comment on the variety. They have a ton of cultivars out there now.

I've seen these used for penjing but only one or two that was very impressive.

If you can collect one with a really old big base you can actually train branch structure with them.

I want to say that its heavenly bamboo tree and there is no doubt that tree is a important factor of outdoor environment its provide us oxygen so keeps tree...

View attachment 30845I took some clippings from this shrub. Does anyone have any idea what this could be?

I don't know for sure but until you can furnish some better pictures of the shrub I would be careful. It does look a bit like Poison Ivy, you know the old rhyme; if its leaves are three leave it bee.

Two years ago my wife and I were challenged with the task of liquidating my mother's property and selling her house to pay for her long term care. Apparently there was some poison Ivy on the property and as it turns out my wife was very sensitive to it, though it didn't bother me. She broke out with rashes, welts and blisters that continued for months and left some scars.

It's 100% not poison ivy. If you google image search poison ivy you'll see it's a black and white difference. It's a tiny bit similar to poison sumac. I think it's already been identified as heavenly bamboo(nandina)

Good I hope that's correct, no one should suffer the way my wife did two summers ago.
