Help me ID this please

Hi

I bought this today cuz it looks good on a whim and dont even know what it is. Or if its even a bonsai. I asked the cashier but he didnt have a clue either.

How do i take care if it? How ofen to water? Can i put it in my bedroom that has indirect sunlight? I paid $40 for it . Is that a fair price? TIA
