Hello all

Picked up 2x Acer's today for around $6 each, just couldn't say no.

Problem is, I have no idea what cultivar they are. Can anyone assist? Bear in mind that we're heading into Autumn down here.

I can't see any grafts, but I haven't dug down into the bottom of the trunks yet so there's still a chance.

9?
Grafts would be above ground.
These are likely seed grown JM so they are both unique new varieties.

Why is everyone so desperate for named varieties? Why can't we just grow maples because they are good bonsai?

I think you're mistaking me. I don't really care what they are, I'm going to enjoy them regardless, was just interested if there was a specific name for them. I like to know as much as I can about things.

If they leaf out bright red in the spring it may be some variation of a deshojo.
