Help me out with this little pot.....

so have this little pot and trying to use it some how. Even if it's for experimental use. Trying to use my bonsai knowledg and try different areas of the art. I have a couple other very small as well but pot doubled in size which have little trees undeveloped trees in them. They are actually in the little pot which is placed into a bigger one to let roots grow out. So where do I start with something this small? What do I put into it, sapling? Cutting? Anyone who has something this small how did your start out?

Try a Ficus cutting.

After the roots establish, you can let them escape for more growth.

Yeah that's what I did with the one on the left pictured below. It's in a pot maybe a little bigger then this one, inside a little red cup. Doing well since it started 2-3 months ago. Just wasn't sure if a cutting would be a good fit for a pot this small.

Any advice of keeping my cutting Ficus small as it continues to grow?
