I have found a cedrus libani out of the ground , probably taken out by an animal or something. I brought it back home with as much original soil as possible but some of its roots at the base of the trunk are not covered.
I ignore for how long it has been like that but, on the positive side, it is showing new buds. on the bad side some of its needles are yellowish/brownish.
I have killed a lot of cedars before and i know they hate their roots to be disturbed so I have no idea what to do now. the soil it is in is very very heavy (a lot of clay).
should I
1) pot it with more soil like the one it currently has
2) bare root it and give it a well draining soil and keep it in a high humidity (green house) for some weeks
You have helped me save trees before so, if we can save this one, I'd be grateful
