Hi,

I went away for a week and created a water and wick type watering system which worked well for 2 mini bonsai, but not this mini yew bonsai. I have have been back for 3 days now and watering the Yew everyday, but it is getting yellower. Any tips of what to do?

Thank you!

Is it kept indoors? If so, you should be keeping it outdoors.

The soil looks extra wet, and likely too damp.

Important to realize: Yews do NOT like wet feet. Allow the soil to dry out much more. Keep the foliage moist.

I like to keep the foliage covered in pastic, and cover the pots so water does not drip in. Multiple times a day I sray the foliage:

Greetings, Traveler! Wonderful to have you here, mingling with the spirits of the Tiny Forest. Come! .. the Woody Dwarves have prepared us quite the banquet.

Most definitely too wet... (already been covered) .. great!

Needs, needs, NEEDS to be outdoors (these guys will NOT survive indoors)... (already covered) ...great!

Yews are generally fairly passive-aggressive.. normally if you notice it LOOKS like it’s “on it’s way out”.... it usually is.

That being said... don’t give up in it.. things could still perk up..

Pleasure to make your acquaintance.
