Sick Dappled Willow multiple possible causes help defining exactly where I went wrong.
Bug infestation on my TikTok, maybe over fertilization, Pot was a little small, I used pine bark and gravel in beginning figured make for a very way repot, dog may have pee’d on tree a time or two, 100 degree days. I did water every 95+ Morning and evening. All my other trees are fine but different trees and circumstances. All these are possible causes for what has happened.
I will post a picture also maybe somebody more experience than me can diagnose what exactly went wrong.
Backstory: I had tons of buds to begin with, but I pulled most of them off early and only panned to create three secondary limbs off trunk. The tree was doing very well for a while but I first noticed a little stem died first, and then I had tried to put a copper wire on the second one just to try to support it a little better it wasn’t very tight it was more just to keep the wind from breaking it. I kind of wondered if it overheated but now the final branch is dying. I did an emergency re-pot this time using a mixture Sand peat moss and pearlite I filtered out as much of the fine particles as I could. I had posted earlier about this specific tree when I first made cutting which did root.
Picture is of after emergency report. I had no intention of messing with this tree until fall.
I’m hoping my tree will rebound, but if nothing else hopefully I can make this a learning experience.
