I collected cuttings from several varieties of Japanese Maple today. I found online a technique that had given some people success and went with that. Do you guys have any suggestions from personal experience that might help me get a higher success rate. I stripped and split the ends of the "clones" and dipped them in hormone gel and inserted them into short rockwool cubes. Then I put them in a humidity dome and misted them well. I am curious what the standard length back from the end of the branch that you want to cut is. I just went down one branch node and cut below it. remove the above branches and proceeded to strip and split the end etc... Any help would be greatly appreciated!

JMs Collected:
-Coral Bark
-Kagiri Nishiki
-Waterfall
-Bonfire
-Seriyu
-Sharps Pygmy(my favorite)
-Red Spider

Also, I was at the Atlanta Bonsai Society's annual show at the botanical gardens today and I picked up a little 2 year old JM and I can't remember what type it is. I was told that it has the smallest leaves of any variety. Anyone know?

Thanks for the help guys!

Cheers!!
