Hello everyone,
Good day.
I am new here, but I would like your opinion.
I went to Omiya Festival last weekend and while visiting the hottest bonsai youtube channel group of artists here in Japan, Bonsai Q, someone sold us a beautiful and huge Hinoki for only 1000 yen.
It is the biggest tree in my collection and I love it. But I can see why it couldn't been sold for the usual price of a tree this size and age.
First, the canopy is unbalanced due to some branches being broken (I created a jin of them) and second, while the tree was well wired to the pot, the level of the dirt is too shallow in my opinion.
Well, I will solve the pot situation tomorrow.
But I would like to know, if I made a mistake with this jin (my fisrt try at it)!?
Now that this branch is dead wood... how can I fill the void in the canopy?
Should I wait for a new secondary branch on this lower primary branch? Cut the jin? Leave the jin?
Thank you in advance
