Hinoki Cypress yellowing

Hello everyone.

I bought this Hinoki Cypress from a local nursery last fall during their fall sale. In April I decided to repot it because it was in muddy soil. I worked the roots and cut about 25% of it making sure to leave most of it untouched.
It is now almost June and it's looking horrible.
What do you guys recommend I do with it? There's no new growth and there's a lot of yellowing. It's in full sun.
Could the yellowing be a fungus?
Any help will be appreciated.

There are some gold tipped hinoki varieties. I'd bet this is normal color for this plant.

It's an 'Aurea' variety. Hinoki don't back-bud except some rare individuals, of which this doesn't seem to be one.

I honestly don't remember it being yellow when I bought it. Maybe I'm wrong.

They are their most bright gold in spring, especially the new foliage receiving best light.

The color may fade and brighten through the year and also according to the health of the tree.
See what happens over the next 12 months.
