There are generally more preferred species of juniper to work with, but folks do use this variety. Search user sawgrass as I believe he has more than a few examples here on Bnut. Yours looks usable for sure.

I think they have potential because they grow so fast down here. A long term approach is to develop a good trunk line quickly, then ultimately replace the foliage with something finer like Kishu.
