My wife is into pottery and she made me a special pot. It’s 6.5 tall, 6.5 x 7.5.
The front of it where it looks like it has been peeled back, has some of my mom’s ashes in it. I think it’s pretty cool. Now I need to figure out what kind of tree to put in it.

That's a very cool pot. Your wife might consider selling them. As for what kind of tree, look around your property. Thanks to birds, wind, squirrels, etc. we have lots of saplings all over our front, and back yards. Juniper, pecan, oak, and several I don't recognize. Having been to Fallbrook many times I know you have access to a lot of trees. Especially eucalyptus. Dig up one, or several, and go for it. Good luck.

Very nice and creative use of the ashes. Choose a tree your mom will like.
My mom always liked what I grew in the garden and my bonsai. I think I will put a Crepe Myrtle in it. She left me a little money and I made our front yard into a garden with a path going thru it. If you want i can post some pictures of it. I know its not bonsai related but it is gardening.

I really like that glaze, it has great texture and variation. Well done.
