Hornbeam crinkled up leaf causes?

Couple of my hornbeams have some crinkled up leaves near the top, they remain green they are just crinkled. Here’s a picture

Aphid damage? Do you see any ants on the tree... ever?

What was the temperature and how much sun does the tree get.. on 90+ days I put my stuff under shade net or next to home till sun passes over

Doesn’t ever really get hotter than 80 here. Usually 72 and below. This American Hornbeam probably gets 4-5 hours of sun a day.

When the tree was shipped here there were some ants that came with it. However I haven’t seen them in a couple months.

Just an update on the Caroliniana Hornbeam. Still not entirely sure what is going on. However, it is pushing new growth on most branches which I hope is a good sign. Some weaker branches seem to be dying off and many of the proximal leaves have died/fallen off.
