Horse's Seedwork '22

Alrighty.. for the sake of space/time.. I decided to wait until I saw "movement" in my trays before beginning to record their progress. (live and learn)

I ALSO decided to record my seedwork in a thread by itself.. because I post quite strangely to be part of a communal post.

So HERE is where I will record said seedwork.

Acer Tatarican ssp. Ginnala. 4 trays.. about 100 seeds.



Potentilla Fruticosa - 2 trays... MANY seeds.


More to come... as I see proof of life.

Oh no! Coarse soil?!
Are you going to do that seedling cutting stuff?

My experience with coarse soil = coarse roots. Insane taps digging down to the bottom of the container and spreading out from there.
So I'm doing coco coir this year.

This is all recycled/sifted.. so realistically smaller than my Standard "bonsai soil"... and actually close to half organic.. (the pictures and assumed tray sizes MAY be misleading)

I have found real coarse, inorganic soil to be the same way.... with the escaping roots n'all.

Edit: Ahh I see.. that ONE tray.. ended up getting some coarse stuff on top because my cat tipped it over.

Salvia Abiano (white sage) Also tipped over by cat (so will have a few coarse handfuls on top).. but finally seeing the substrate "move"..
