I can just imagine it's proper tokonama display. Rather than a scroll it would have a circular saw blade painted with a winter barn scene. It's stand, a used GA Power cable spool.

Yeah, but going from 8 gauge nebari to 12 gauge trunk creates some reverse taper!:p

Here is something similar that a guy from church does. He has sold several of these for alot more than the price on ebay. First is a finished tree, second is what looks like when he is working on it.

So if your thumbs aren't too green, this is the tree you are looking for.

Cause if you play with it for a few hours your thumbs WILL turn green!

I can see a heck of a lot more potential in this piece than in the eBay piece. A little more taper, a none-vertical trunkline, and some branch work and this would be a really nice piece. As it is, I like the windblown effect.

As a purveyor of copper training wire I can tell you this. The value of the tree is higher than the asking price based on what I think the gauge sizes are. Maybe he/she realized this hence the reverse taper
