I all,

I might be able to lay my hands on 1-2 inch thick cuttings of portocularia. As at home I cannot get enything more than a 15 leaf whip, I am considering taking this. It will be 4 weeks before I can do a proper pot-up though. Would a cutting without roots survive this long, if given light and the occasional moistening?

This all is assuming these will be able to root cuttings this size. I assume this will nog be an issue?

4 weeks is nothing, even if you let it dry out a bit it can last for a few months easy

I grew my cooldrink can thickness tree for almost a year on the bench-- tree/cutting just propped up with some rocks. free moving air over the stump. They are reallly tough. Just dont let it get too cold (I see you are in Germany)

I know a small cutting of mine spent 2 weeks between the cutting and planting... that's all I can say

In the end it was not to be. I asked the home owners and got a "Nah, the bush does not need trimming". Bummer
