Just curious. I counted the different species and varieties and came up with 24 , either currently a bonsai or will be in the future. Two different varieties of hawthorns, two different varieties of mulberry, etc.
Damn, you probably grew a couple more from seed in the time it took to write that list.Haven't done this for a while. I think my list is 50 species, 75 varieties.
I have multiples of most (i.e., well in excess of 100 trees of various sizes).
Realistically many won't make it, but presently I am tending to all of them as though they all are, or will become, bonsai. Of course, I covet more varieties of certain species, but alas ....

That should have read " How many species/varieties of bonsai DO YOU HAVE?" I was a little laxed on the proofreading , there.
Just coming up on first full year of bonsai. I have 13 species . The next question should be how many have you killed.....Just curious. I counted the different species and varieties and came up with 24 , either currently a bonsai or will be in the future. Two different varieties of hawthorns, two different varieties of mulberry, etc.
