I have about a dozen 2-3 year old Bald Cypress in various stage of trunk building. After just one trip to my friend's land, I will be chopping them all to make small BC bonsai for fun. I now can buy bigger trunk BCs if I want them. No more spending time to build trunk. :)
I will be posting the BC chops soon :)

What soil composition do you find works best / gets best growth for bald cypresses?

For BC in development I use the cheapest compost manure at the big box store. Only $2 a bag and BCs grow like crazy. The 6ft tall you see in the picture above is only 16 month or so old and that was from seed.
