What a bruiser! You were fortunate to get so many branches so low on the trunk. Most of my big ones have the first branches 4-5 feet high.

Yes. That saves about a year of development right there. The tree grew on dryer land and got big real fast. The taper isn’t as much as the other. I will have a lot of carving to do next year.

Hulk is looking good. I am developing a carving plan for him. He’s gonna be well chiseled 😁

Great progression !

We don't have the climate here where they would thrive like that, but still I have two seedlings that survived our winters outdoors (climate change means warmer winters here, though it also means things like tornadoes, which is totally new here).
Nothing to compare though, it's just the beginning.
