Harry, watch this video, it demo's your point

Thanks Boondock, I appreciate your effort. I just wanted to put everything in perspective.We're sitting here on this fly speck of a planet arguing about how we got here, and there's a universe out there something or somebody spent a hell of a lot of time creating.

I love that sequence of images. My head explodes a little when I think about the how there are voids in space a trillion times larger than Antares. One commenter on youtube summed it up perfectly with this elegant quote
MrCanuck: "My BALLS should be on the end of this video."

This one is a great humbilizer as well. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p86BPM1GV8M

Carl's "Cosmos" series is one of the best I've ever seen on TV, I wish they would rerun it every year for younger people who have never seen it could learn.

Thanks for reminding me.

Harry

Harry,
How could you do this to me?
Until today, I thought that I was playing a pretty decent part in this Universe. Are you implying that I am just a speck? (no offense to the speck)

From old Billy Shakespear:
All the world's a stage, and all the men and women merely players: they have their exits and their entrances; and one man in his time plays many parts.

The guy had a way with words.

Harry

Everyone under 30 should watch the entire series, utterly fascinating.

Thanks for the link,
Harry

Cosmos is good but pretty dated. The new series on either the History channel or Discovery is "The Universe" That is a really cool show. It has things that have been found out as recently as when they edited the program. Like shots from outer space on the space station of the heat signature left by the murmors of the big bang. Unbelievable series.

Of course there will be some that will say thats it...it's unbelievable.

I thought Elvis said that in "Are you Lonesome Tonight".

This website called Free Documentaries Online has excellent videos covering,

* Anthropology
* Astronomy, Space
* Biography
* Biology, Nature
* Cosmology, Physics
* Crime
* History
* Lifestyle, Society
* Mystery, Conspiracy
* Politics, Religion
* Science, Technology

But doing a google video search, sorting by duration longer than 20 mins, and you can find any movie, documentary or TV show online.

There are those that will say that Elvis was a hoax, nobody could be that popular.

Thanks for the heads up Boondock, even an old guy with few brain cells left, can still appreciate learning even if I do forget it the next morning.......:(

Great video, too bad they didn't include the largest star with the size of our little Milky Way galaxy for comparison as well.
