Hi everyone,

I am a bigginner when it comes to Bonsai.

And I need some help to really understand the type of bonsai that I got as a present from a friend.

I would say that it's a Ligustrum but it looks like a Carmona too...

Sorry to look so bad at it but I am trying to do my best.

I putted outside not too much exposed to the sun but the leaves looks more a more dry any tips ??

thanks for your help

Your tree does not look like Ligustrum to me but I have no other ID to offer.
Your tree is in a small pot so it will need regular water. Aim to wet the soil properly when you water but allow to get just damp before watering again. It can be good to soak a small pot (maybe 10-20 min) in a container of water occasionally, especially in summer) to make sure it is getting properly wet every week or so (as well as watering if it needs in between soaking)
Your tree also has a rock. I have found that rocks soak up the water and make the soil dry much quicker. The rock also occupies part of the pot so there is less soil and room for roots. Your bonsai will need more water than one without a rock.

Location sounds good - some sun but not too much.

Bonsai need fertiliser. Does not matter too much what sort but I fertilise every 2-3 weeks when the trees are growing.

Your profile does not give your location. We are from all round the world. Advice for you would be better if you add your country or city to your profile.

Good luck keeping your tree alive. I think your friend has given you something a little more difficult than some other bonsai so please do not be disheartened if it does not survive. All of have had trees die but use the experience to learn and try again.

Welcome, I think everyone here is trying to do their best, we are just at different levels. Fukien tea, probably isn't the best first tree, you should get a few more beginner friendly trees.
