... but I need something to stare at during the winter. This 18" Portulacaria is my only one. Still, considering trying to sell it this year.

Thanks for looking.

Wow. I've never seen a pine tree like that!

Wow. I've never seen a pine tree like that! Impressive.

Cool jade. I think I remember seeing this one on another forum (IBC?) while reading about jades and it actually inspired me to buy one of my own. Mine has been relegated to houseplant status until it puts on enough girth to even think about training. Do you have a lot of extending growth that you have to cut back to maintain the shape? Mine seems like it grows like a weed.

Amkhalid,

my big question would be, are you sure that it is a tropical tree ?

Isn't it from somewhere near South Africa ?
Elephants munching.
Chuckle.

It is very attractive, and why sell it ?

Pine image was certainly the plan! This time around I even cut off the downward facing leaves to try and make it look more piney.

In the winter under cheap fluoro lights it grows a bit. In the summer it starts to grow around July but nothing crazy. I think the trunk has hardly thickened in the 7 years I've had it.

You're right, South Africa. I'm a bit of a generalist when it comes to ecozones - if it can't tolerate -10 Celsius, its a tropical :)

I want to get one too but seeing how slow their trunk grows, it'll have to be one with a thick grunk already.
