When the sunlight hits these ice glazed trees they must look even more spectacular. Did you move them into a protected space before the snow? I'd be concerned the iced branches would break under the weight of yesterdays snow.

Do maples suffer with a frost like that?
Usually no. Risky period is as buds swell, ready to leaf out. Around here we get a stretch of warm spring like weather and then one or two cold snaps as winter puts up its last stand. That is usually where the maples take a hit in our zone.

Oh yes. They were outta there the next day. The ice had melted overnight as well.
