I bought this tree from a Korean woman who brought it from Korea.

So far possible ID is Boulevard Cyprus or Blue Star (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Juniperus_squamata)

I have been studying up...'

Unfortunately I left it inside all winter because I did not know any better.

Any suggestions as to what my first move should be?

Still trying to choose a front but I am assuming with the trunk movement I should be windswept? However the wind is blowing in the wrong direction!?

Open to any and all styling ideas recommendations.

THANKS!

It's a false cypress 'Chamaecyparis pisifera Boulevard'. Just be careful with your styling choices as back budding is difficult to none, and be aware the tree will always have a bit of a wild look. I like them :)

Google Ryan Neil in Canberra and watch the videos till you catch the part on "subjective bonsai design". Gold.

The second pic looks to be your best front, cuz the root spread is best there.
But the tree leans back there....so you want a continuation of the trunk to come forward over the viewer.

Looks like you have a branch to nurture for that....

If this thing springs healthy....

I'd open up the top a bit to let light in....
As it seems your finished future tree will be about half this height.
