I'm new to caring for bonsai's. My mother works as a salesperson for her friend who owns and runs a business selling them. He's great with designing and cutting, but not so much with care. Mom cares for most of his plants because she has a green thumb.

There's one bonsai that's not doing so well under her care, though, and so she's passed it on to me. The main problem is neither she, her boss, nor I know what kind it is. If I knew what kind of bonsai it is I could look up care online. It was a throw away plant, unwanted.

Mom's been watering it a little every day and has had it for three weeks. It's far from in great condition. I'd really appreciate any advice members here can give me. I don't want this little guy to die.
