Anyone name this one? Having a hard time tracking it down ..an old friend of mine drops off trees a couple times a year, wasn't able to ask him. Now his health is failing and can't reach out to him.

My closest guess would be Buckthorn.

But I never seen em go red.
The growth and leaf veins are very similar tho.
